Kane takes the reins at SAWDAC

Jan. 7, 2015 – Darrel Kane has stepped into his role the new executive director of the Siding and Window Dealers Association of Canada, replacing David Mitten, who retired at the end of the 2015. Mitten announced his retirement early in 2015 and the association embarked on an executive search to find Kane. Kane comes to SAWDAC from ICI Paints with significant experience running non-profit organizations at the University of Waterloo.

“Making contact, listening and acting on what I learn is how I approach my position,” says Kane. “I want to learn what the challenges and issues are so SAWDAC can put some things in place that will help [members] address the challenges. The long and the short of it is I am here to serve the members, the board and the staff at the office. To be successful, I need to be a proactive problem solver.”
