Fensterbau Frontale draws huge crowds

April 28, 2016 – The second day of Fensterbau Frontale in Nuremberg, Germany, featured even bigger crowds and a palpable buzz through the crowded exhibition halls.

“The traffic is extreme,” said Zaynip Temiz of machinery maker Elumatec.  “On the first day we had over 130 leads, but today I’d guess it’s double.”

“The show here is very special,” said Just Screen’s Victor Kang.

The second day also featured many unique fenestration products, including Hawa’s Frontslide and Frontego 30/matic hardware for flush-front sliding shutters.
These large products can cover glass facades.

Another unique product was Glassline’s canopy system. It’s a solid sheet of thick glass that can be installed easily over entrances and patios, said the company’s Bastian Terkowsky.

Weiss showed off a wide range of sandwich panels made from a variety of top layers and core materials. They can be used as door and window fillings or as balustrade panels.

Sika’s large booth featured the full range of its adhesives, including the new SikaForce-7900, a new two-component high-performance polyurethane-based adhesive. The company said it was designed for use on untreated, powder-coated or anodized aluminum frame and sash profiles.

Zobel displayed its coatings products for wooden and vinyl doors and windows—Deco-tec, Zowo-plast and Zowo-tec. The products are all water-based.

Schlegel’s booth highlighted its collection of extruded sealing profiles, brush pile weather seals and foam seals.

Simonswerk’s line of door hinges and hardware was displayed in a unique way–in a huge wall of shelving that resembled a library. Each product was placed next to displays that looked like oversized books.

Edgetech, Quanex’s European division, reported that its SuperSpacer Premium and SuperSpacer TriSeal for insulating glass units have been certified for use in arctic climates by the Passive House Institute.

Also in insulating glass, Roll Tech, an Alu Pro affiliate, presented its Chromatech warm-edge spacer. It also presented a new product–Multitech, a spacer bar made from fiberglass that the company’s Thorsten Menzel says offers the best thermal performance on the market.

Proline’s booth featured its large window shades and pergolas for shading and ventilation. They can be used both indoors and outdoors and come in a wide range of sizes.
