October 15, 2015  By The Buildings Show

The Buildings Show returns to the Metro Toronto Convention Centre (MTCC) December 2 – 4, 2015, supported by Construction Market Data, BILD, Toronto Construction Association, Ontario Association of Architects, Canadian Construction Association, Real Estate Institute of Canada, Ready Mixed Concrete Association of Ontario, BOMA Toronto, Interior Designers of Canada, and Royal Architectural Institute of Canada.

The Buildings Show brings together Construct Canada, PM Expo, HomeBuilder & Renovator Expo and the World of Concrete Pavilion to the South Building and IIDEXCanada to the North Building, and is held simultaneously with the Real Estate Forum Toronto. Newly acquisitioned from Informa PLC’s buyout of Hanley Wood Exhibitions, the World of Concrete Pavilion, formerly Concrete Canada, is the primary resource for sourcing innovative concrete and masonry construction materials.

All shows combined, The Buildings Show is the largest North American meeting place for the entire industry to source the latest tools, products and solutions from exhibits, features and demonstrations provided by 1,600 Canadian and International exhibitors such as Altro, Armtec, Cambria, casalife, Cosentino, 3M, Dow Corning, Eurofase, Formica, Interface, Masco, Haworth, Keilhauer, Mercedes-Benz Canada, Firestone Building Products, Richelieu, Shaw Contract, and Steelcase.

“Having developed relationships with these industries throughout the life of these shows, we’re able to put together an event that provides maximum value for attendees,” said George Przybylowski, Informa Canada’s Vice President. “We’re proud that we have created this fully comprehensive experience of the issues that matter most to the community and an event that everyone can benefit from attending.”

Attendees will also be able to choose from more than 350 seminars, panels and roundtables that address a spectrum of contemporary issues that are having a direct impact on the state of the built environment from trends to building codes and regulations. These include South Building sessions led by professional and personal development consultant Kevin Lust, and the National Research Council of Canada. This year’s International Architecture Roundtable includes panelists Brandon Clifford, Principal of Matter Design, Filippo Gabbiani, Co-Founder of Kokaistudios, Ronald Rael, CEO and Co-Founder of Emerging Objects, and Bing Thom, Principal of Bing Tom Architects, led by moderator Elsa Lam, Editor of Canadian Architect.

In the North Building, IIDEXCanada is home to International keynotes, including Brazilian father and son duo Indio Da Costa, and Clive Wilkinson; and the State of the Industry panel led by Susan Wiggins, IDC Executive Director; Aandra Currie Shearer, IDC President; Randal Froebelius, BOMA Chair; Craig Smith, NAIOP Toronto Chapter President; Tim Peters, CoreNet Canada President, and Samuel Oboh RAIC President. This year marks the introduction of three national summits covering wellness, accessibility and healthcare; The Best of Workplace, a transformative installation on the ever-changing definition of workspace by Quadrangle Architects; and awards presentations for Canadian Interiors Best of Canada, Canadian Architect Awards of Excellence, and Air Canada enRoute Hotel Design Awards.

“This year’s conference programming was created in order to equip attendees with a comprehensive understanding of the big issues, challenges and business opportunities that lie ahead for this industry.” says Tracy Bowie, Vice President of IIDEXCanada.
