AVFQ hands out 2020 Lumiere Awards

At its annual conference Feb. 26 and 27 in St-Hyacinthe, the AVFQ honoured several member companies.

In the Commercial Office/Space category the winner was Multiver for Le Diamant by Robert Lepage for having responded brilliantly to the specific requirements and the complexity of this innovative facade, Camil Andre of Multiver accepting.

In the Commercial Institutional, Public Services, Seniors, Industrial category the winner was Techniverre + inc. for The Pointe-à-Callière museum for having taken up this great structural challenge and demonstrated the versatility of glass. Christian Gendron and Yoan Gendron accepted.

In the Workforce, OSH, Work/Family/Education/Integration/Retention category the winner was Lepage Millwork for their many initiatives to benefit employees while pursuing the vision and values ​​of the company. Mélanie Binette of Lepage Millwork accepted.

In the Residential Project-Single-Family Home category ($500,000 and more), the winner was Fabelta-Fenestration systems for the Residence of the Church. They were recognized for having taken up this great technical challenge while respecting the particular architecture of the building. Michel Desroches, Sylvie Desroches and Simon Desroches acceptd for Fabelta.

In the Residential Project-Multi-residential-Co-Ownership category, the winner was Jeld-Wen Saint-Apollinaire division for the Waldwick Station project showing exemplary energy and acoustic performance as well as its architectural signature. Gilles Bouchard and Lisa Bergeron of Jeld-Wen accepting.

In the Relief-Internal or External Recovery, Approach, Transfer of Powers, the winners were Vitrerie A&E Fortin’s Paul-André Bouchard, Jérôme Bouchard and Éric Larouche for their commitment and their concern to take the company to the next level. Marlène Fortin, Éric Larouche, Jérôme Bouchard, Paul-André Bouchard of Vitrerie A & E Fortin accepting.

In the Innovation-Products-Equipment-Technologies-Processes category, the winner was A&D Prévost for the P-55 Evolution curtainwall system for its simplicity of installation as well as its energy and acoustic performance. Claude Cardin and Richard Germain of A. & D. Prévost accepted.

Congratulations to the companies that won the 2020 Lumiere Awards for your remarkable achievements. Thank you also to all the companies who submitted their applications and who each amazed the jury. Finally, thank you to the three members of the jury: Daniel Gilbert of the Ordre des architectes du Québec; Marc Laramée of Hydro-Québec; and Richard Legendre of the Order of Professional Technologists of Quebec.

During the same evening, the AVFQ awarded the Armand-Patenaude Prize to a personality who distinguished himself by his contribution to the industry, Réal Néron.
