May 14, 2014 - The American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA) has announced that Ken Brenden (AAMA Technical Services Director) will retire effective May 22.
April 29, 2014 - The Insulating Glass Manufacturers Alliance has notified the industry that electronic communications will be temporarily disrupted tomorrow, April 30, as it moves to new offices at 2255 St. Laurent Blvd., Ottawa, Ont., unit 115. The association's mailing address and other contact information will remain the same following the move.
April 15, 2014 - Fenestration Canada invites members to nominate candidates for the prestigious 2014 C.P. Loewen Award.
We have big plans for 2014, from new committees to Windoor’s 20th birthday. This year arrives with a full agenda for Fenestration Canada and its members: code implementation, extreme weather from coast to coast, webinars and website improvements and additions, planning for both our AGM this spring in Winnipeg and for Windoor’s 20th anniversary this fall. The year has barely started and we have several committee sessions under our belts.
April 10, 2014 - The American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA) board of directors voted unanimously to establish a sustainability steering committee. It will oversee the various AAMA committees and task groups involved in establishing standard practices that lead to product sustainability -- from component development to structural integrity.
March 4, 2014 - Fenestration Canada has become a member of the Canadian EnergyEfficiency Alliance (CEEA). The Alliance is a national organization solely dedicated tothe advancement of energy efficiency and conservation in Canada.
Feb. 20, 2014 - At the American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA) 77th Annual Conference, the association’s membership ratified the 2014 board of directors. The slate included Marg Webb, CHRP, of the Insulating Glass Manufacturers Alliance (IGMA) to fill the affiliated association seat, plus Pella’s Kevin Gaul and Simonton’s Sid Spear to fill seats as residential representatives.
Feb. 20, 2014 – PPG Industries has announced that Paul W. Bush, PPG manager of technical services for flat glass, has been elected to the board of the National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC), occupying the Fenestration Industry (primary glass manufacturer) seat. “We are pleased to have Paul as a representative of PPG and primary glass manufacturers on the NFRC board,” said Richard A. Beuke, PPG vice president, flat glass. “The NFRC has been instrumental in driving innovation in the glass industry through its focus on component modeling and developing energy-efficiency ratings of commercial and residential glazings. Paul’s background in product development and his active leadership in other glass industry associations make him an ideal choice for this critical position.” 
Feb. 5, 2014 - FENBC is holding their first annual technical meeting.  This annual event will be held in February and will invite everyone from the fenestration industry.
Jan. 24, 2014 - Fenestration B.C. has cancelled its membership in the Canadian Glass Association in a letter sent to the CGA board Jan. 21. Fenestration B.C. was created in 2011 through the merger of the Window and Door Manufacturers Association of B.C. and the Glazing Contractors Association of B.C. The GCABC had previously been a member of the CGA, but the WDMA-BC had not.
Dec. 4, 2013 - At a Nov. 21 meeting, Ryan Dudeck was appointed president of Fenestration Manitoba, with Al Dueck taking the position of past president. Dudeck thanked Dueck for the invaluable role he has played in the past few years in founding Fenestration Manitoba and serving as its first president. During his term, Fenestration Manitoba was incorporated, a board was formed, and a bank account was opened.
Oct. 29, 2013 - Fenestration BC held its annual general meeting on Oct. 22 and elected its new board of directors. Fenestration BC serves the commercial and residential fenestration industries in B.C., having been formed from a merger between the former Window and Door Manufacturers Assocation of BC and the Glazing Contractors Association of BC.
Oct. 18, 2013 - The Fenestration Manitoba executive team of Al Dueck, Ryan Dudeck and Aurelle Robin has announced the next stage in the development of its industry association. Ethero Events and Management has been appointed as association managers for Fenestration Manitoba in order to grow the young organization. Ethero's partners, Monica Derksen and Cameron Derksen, have built a reputation for providing customized suites of management and event services to not-for-profit organizations. The Manitoba born-and-raised siblings have coordinated and managed conferences, festivals, fundraising galas, and specialize in unique event experiences.
Oct. 3, 2013 - The American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA) National Fall Conference will be held in Baltimore, Oct. 27-30. Registration is open through Oct. 18 at www.aamanet.org. AAMA’s FenestrationMasters certification exams will be administered on-site during the conference.
Oct. 2, 2013 - A solid turnout of about 20 people invested some time at the Architectural Testing Canada testing facility in Winnipeg, benefiting from a tour by manager Bryan Boyle. The group were also updated by the FenMan executive and continued with a number of discussion topics including planning for the Fenestration Canada AGM in Winnipeg in 2014. The group unanimously approved the appointment of Ethero (Monica and Cameron Derksen) as an executive management team to assist the group to get to the next level as an association. FenMan members are also looking to take the next step with the Fenestration Canada group in terms of membership and benefits.
