Events & Shows
WinDoor 2018 will take place Dec. 3 to 5 at the Quebec City Convention Centre in Quebec City. It's the first time Canada's window and door show has been held in this historic city. Once again, Fenestration Canada has upped the interest level with not one but two social networking events, show-floor exhibitor demos and a huge education program including a stream for commercial glaziers and fabricators. But it's the destination that will take centre stage - Quebec City in the Christmas season is not to be missed.
Fenestration Manitoba has organized another year end mixer for Dec. 11 at Prairie’s Edge in Winnipeg. This event will feature not only a new location but a presentation of new material. Oct. 22, 2018 - It is official: recreational marijuana is legal in Canada with effect from October 17. With that comes a patchwork of jurisdictional laws establishing where and how marijuana products will be sold and used by consumers.

The Canadian WinDoor conference and show plays an important role in our industry and deserves our support. This is particularly true with the strong winds of change we currently face, such as evolving technology and the demand on all of us to better respond to environmental pressures.

WinDoor 2018, taking place Dec. 4 and 5 in Quebec City, will celebrate a few firsts. It's the first time Canada's trade show for the window and door manufacturing industry will be held in Quebec City, following up a successful event in Montreal two years ago. And for the first time there will be an added focus on the architectural glazing side of the market, with exhibits and education sessions aimed at those who specialize in curtainwall, storefront and custom aluminum fenestration for commercial, institutional, industrial and high-rise residential facade construction.
A breakfast networking gathering organized by Cam Drew of Thermoproof and Fenestration Manitoba achieved some level of expected success as about 20 to 25 people showed up despite some trouble with the hosting restaurant. On behalf of the organizers, our apologies and next year would have to be a better, more accommodating location.
