Dec. 19, 2014 - The first storms of winter dropped six feet of snow on nearby Buffalo, N.Y., but even the threat of being trapped in Pearson Airport couldn't keep fenestration professionals away from the critical conversations at Windoor 2014. Windoor, Canada's trade show for the window and door industry, took place on November 18 through 20 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in downtown Toronto. The show welcomed 2,618 window and door fabricators and dealers from across North America to three days of education and networking. 130 industry suppliers packed the show floor. Canada's window and door association, Fenestration Canada, held important meetings and learning seminars.
Nov. 27, 2014 - Having previously operated as seven superior, stand-alone shows to wow and educate the design, architecture, construction and real estate professionals, this year Informa Canada is poised to produce its biggest and best show yet. IIDEXCanada, Construct Canada, PM Expo, Concrete Canada, Home Builder & Renovator Expo, Construct International, and The Real Estate Forum (Toronto), will come together in one show under one roof as The Buildings Show, North America’s largest exposition, networking and educational event for construction, design, and real estate professionals.
Now it can be said: there was skepticism when Fenestration Canada told its membership it was holding its 2014 Annual General Meeting in Winnipeg, Man. – purported home of arctic weather and mosquitoes the size of small birds. At best, there was concern that the event would not see the numbers present at the tremendously successful AGM in St. John’s, N.L., the previous year. But thanks to the tireless efforts of master promoter Al Dueck, of Duxton Windows, Winnipeg went down as an equally great success, attracting record numbers of attendees and putting smiles on everyone’s faces through excellent education sessions, accommodations and entertainment options. Even the weather co-operated.
Windoor, the premier window and door show in Canada, is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. A long way from its humble beginnings as a casual conversation over a few cocktails, Windoor continues to generate excitement for all those attending the annual event. This year spotlights the exhibitors who have maintained a presence at the show year after year. Here they explain why it’s important to be a part of the past, present and the future of Windoor.

June 12, 2014 - The notorious "Winterpeg" gave Fenestration Manitoba golfers a beautiful, clear, 20-degree day with just enough wind to keep the mosquitoes in the bush at the challenging Rossmere Country Club in Winnipeg. The event, which has been held almost every year for over 30 years, brought 85 of Manitoba's window and door fabricators, dealers and suppliers together for only the second time under the Fenestration Manitoba banner.
