CPIA names Hruska as VP of sustainability
Feb. 3, 2017 – Carol Hochu, President & CEO of the Canadian Plastics Industry Association (CPIA), is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Joe Hruska as Vice-President, Sustainability, effective February 16, 2017. In this role, Joe will lead the development and execution of CPIA’s sustainability, advocacy and partnership programs to promote solutions that increase the recycling and recovery of plastics at their end-of-life and reduce marine litter.
Joe is well known to CPIA members and staff as he has been a contract consultant on a number of successful Post-Use/Sustainability projects over the years.
More than a dozen years ago, Joe created and managed his own consulting firm, Hruska and Associates. His extensive knowledge of and experience in the fields of recycling and recovery of plastics, in leading and managing stewardship programs, and in nurturing relationships and building partnerships with a variety of key stakeholders makes him ideally suited to the role of CPIA’s Vice-President, Sustainability.
Carol Hochu says, “I’m very pleased to welcome Joe to CPIA in his new role as VP Sustainability to continue our commitment to increase recycling and recovery rates for plastics. Joe’s demonstrated skills and experience will be a definite asset in our ongoing efforts to collaborate with governments, the private sector and other stakeholders in pursuit of our shared vision and efforts to divert plastics from landfill.”
“I am thrilled to be joining CPIA as VP Sustainability, and to lever the knowledge and relationships I have established in the Canadian plastics industry, CPIA, product stewardship sector and our many valued partners critical to our shared success. I am excited about this opportunity and look forward to achieving tangible results for the association’s members”, said Joe.
