FenCon’s helping hand on the software component of Automation Technology Corner

Not that long ago, the concept of ERP implementation was purely for the largest companies and implicitly involved a LARGE dedication of time, resources and money and was almost inconceivable as a solution for a small to medium size manufacturers.  It even sounds “complicated” based on the official definition : Enterprise resource planning (ERP) is a process by which a company (often a manufacturer) manages and integrates the important parts of its business. An ERP management information system integrates areas such as planning, purchasing, inventory, sales, marketing, finance and human resources.

However, rapid changes in our world has a “ying and a yang” to it thankfully.  Highly experienced and competent window and door software companies will be on hand, providing some extremely valuable insights into many aspects of their work with and implementation of systems at www.FenCon18.com .  WindowMaker, FeneTech, WTS Paradigm and newer arrival to N.America – Klaes are all on hand.  The objective of this programming component is NOT to “sell” a particular approach or brand but rather to allow for a level of knowledge transfer between systems providers and manufacturers.  We are trying to facilitate this as aggressively as possible through greater interaction as well as feature seminars.

Let’s just consider a few examples.  DUXTON Windows & Doors, a medium size manufacturer is in the process of launching a substantially up-dated, ever more product comprehensive ERP system provided by WindowMaker.   EVW, a relatively young, medium size manufacturer in Ontario is very proud of their cooperative and rapid installation of a WTS Paradigm system.  Inkster Park Millwork has worked its way through some significant advances on Paradigm’s implementation on swinging door quoting and processing systems.  Westech Windows, on the upper scale of medium size manufacturer, is well on its way to implementing a new Paradigm system.  Quite proudly, Centra in BC has developed some pretty sophisticated approaches to its software systems, built upon a WindowMaker base.  And, in Calgary, Lux Windows is well on its way on implementing a new FeneTech installation.  

Terry Adamson, a “personality” within Fenestration Canada with software implementation experience will be leading a seminar on key do’s and don’ts of switching systems and expediting implementation.   Fenetech’s Matt Batcha and Paradigm’s Serge Rondeau will be leading a half day seminar on the Friday specifically focused on ERP system development and implementation.  And, AJ Piscitelli of FeneTech will be presenting some cutting edge ideas on systems communication/language within the forward leaning factories of today and tomorrow.  Additionally, each of these organizations will be staffing a table top at www.FenCon18.com in order to create more interaction/discussion.

Combine this package of “software expertise” with the added element of advanced equipment manufacturers and suppliers such as GED, Joseph Machine Company, JSA Machinery and JRC – we believe it will stir the conversation and encourage manufacturers to look very practically at how to move forward to remain successful for the long term.  The objective this conference on window and door manufacturing is provide world class knowledge and technology in a compact, affordable package!
