Win-Door set to launch tomorrow

Nov. 11, 2013 – Canada’s trade show for the window and door industry kicks off tomorrow at 5 p.m. at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, South Building. Hundreds of window and door fabricators, distributors and dealers will converge on the downtown location to visit over 100 industry suppliers and take in educational and networking events. Parking is free with your show admission.

Al Dueck, first vice-president of Fenestration Canada, released the following statement encouraging everyone to come to Win-Door:

“Fenestration Canada is bringing one of the biggest events in the Canadian window and door manufacturing world, the well established and recognized WinDoor event, to Toronto. There may be many preconceived notions of who should or should not attend or what is the real value of taking a day off to attend.  I would like to make a short but emphatic statement on the range of reasons as well as some special opportunities that are there this year. 

“First, Fenestration Canada has worked with the show organizers to continue to expand the size and variety of exhibitors.  
The direct benefit to you is the likelihood that you will find new products and options that can make your window and door business more successful.

“Second, the package of seminars and presentations continues to grow in variety and value.  This is especially true as the impact of code requirements intensifies and becomes ever more critical that you and your associates truly understand them and be able to meet those requirements in a timely basis without unexpected costs. 

“Third, the industry is becoming more engaged as regional sister associations in Quebec, Manitoba and B.C. become more closely linked to Fenestration Canada. In fact, a sizeable number of regional or provincial fabricators are expected to achieve Associate membership of FenCan beginning in 2013/14. This can definitely help many companies who have not had access to national code details which are being implemented throughout Canada. 

“We strongly encourage you to fully engage in the WinDoor/Fenestration Canada activities and presentations while also engaging industry leaders and experts.  Fenestration Canada executive and board members are staffing a booth during the show and are challenging you to express your interests and concerns. A Fabricator Council has been established and will
further seek your input to ensure the industry’s priorities are reflected in the activities.  

“Lastly, Fenestration Canada’s Annual General meeting will be hosted by Fenestration Manitoba in Winnipeg in June 2014.  FenMan members will be at the FenCan booth providing added information and a special opportunity to win a substantial executive upgrade at a Hotel Fort Garry suite, including Sunday brunch and a TenSpa voucher.

“A large number of industry participants are within a short drive or flight, even on short notice. Take the time to invest in your success!”
