Learn how common design elements of the built environment have contributed toward the decline of bird populations due to bird collisions. Attendees will understand the dangers common building design elements present to birds, and how to lessen bird collisions using available glass technologies aesthetics, options, design considerations when specifying, and cost mitigation strategies.

This course will review:

• Know the available bird-deterrent technologies that can better the safety and welfare of the natural environment.
• Define what generally constitutes “bird-friendly” glass, and where to find local definitions and requirements.
• Articulate the risk factors of common architectural designs that pose a threat to avian wildlife.
• Evaluate cost mitigation strategies of incorporating bird-deterrent glazing in design
