FenCon19 Keynote speaker has a powerful background and message
Feb. 11, 2019 – Its quite fascinating to hear Billy Taylor talk about his journey in manufacturing and how he personally has been able to impact operations while developing and refining his very real experiences in leading, not just theories! In fact, Billy has most recently Been promoted to global director for diversity and inclusion at Goodyear and in this role has the opportunity to have even more powerful impact on the success of the business.
We were drawn to bringing Billy to the attention of the window and door manufacturing business as the feedback on his presentation at the Manitoba CME event was so positive. In fact, as you will see from the short video, Billy has been enthusiastically developing his process of integrating excellence all the way through in very practical terms.
Its interesting to learn from the real things happening in factories and Billy talks about the evolution in their gemba walks. It used to be led by managers but they managed to create gemba walks which are led by people on the factory floor. “The net result is that people begin to trust our leaders and managers and the start talking about some of things that they tended to hide,” says Billy. “Our people began to realize and experience the fact that they were truly valued and it is in fact this reality that begins to truly impact how the operation succeeds. The perception of their value becomes real and the culture begins to truly change. Excellence comes directly from this real ground floor engagement!”
Unlike some theoretical motivational speakers, Billy has learned the realities of operational excellence while developing from Early days at a Goodyear factory and eventually becoming a senior plant manager. As an additional point of reference, Billy Has been invited as a keynote speaker at AME (Association of Management Excellence) events and brings some very powerful, Practical and inspirational concepts to FenCon19.
