Gentek strike resolved quickly

A strike at Gentek Building Products in London, Ont., has ended after five days. Members of Unifor Local 27 went on strike June 23, but have reached a tentative deal that will be voted on Thursday.

Gentek fabricates siding and windows at three plants in London, Burlington, Ont., and Point Claire, Que. It’s products are distributed through 22 branches across the country. Gentek has been in business for over 50 years and is owned by Associated Materials Inc., an Ohio-based building materials conglomerate.
