JELD-WEN wins ENERGY STAR Manufacturer of the Year award
August 16, 2017 By JELD-WEN
Aug. 16, 2017 – August is a hot, fun season full of BBQs, beach days and renovation projects. As homeowners look to beat the heat, running fans or air conditioning around-the-clock, or adjusting their central air to cool, they may find an increase in their utility bill.
Energy efficiency isn’t just about saving money, though that is an incentive for consumers looking to invest in high performance windows. Energy efficiency can also stimulate the economy by providing huge energy savings to governments and business owners. Plus, it’s better for the environment.
Recently JELD-WEN Canada was recognized as the ENERGY STAR Manufacturer of the Year, in the window and door category, for the second year in a row. As the most recognized window and door brand in Canada, and one of the largest window and door brands in the world, this recognition makes a bold statement: we are setting the bar high for energy efficiency, and we expect the industry to follow.
The Honourable Jim Carr, Minister of Natural Resources, is proud of our contribution to energy innovation.
“ENERGY STAR Canada exemplifies our government’s commitment to improved energy efficiency as we transition to a low-carbon, clean-growth economy. On behalf of Canadians, I am proud to recognize JELD-WEN Canada for their efforts to increase the number of energy-efficient products in the market, and for making it easier for consumers to save money and reduce energy use. All of today’s award winners can be proud of their outstanding innovations in energy efficiency.”
In helping revolutionize the building and manufacturing industry to choose ENERGY STAR certified products, we are doing our part in seeing that energy efficiency becomes the norm—not an exception to the rule, but the rule itself.
There’s a new energy in the air: from government officials, to senior executives at JELD-WEN, to our vast network of dealer and contractor partners, the industry at large is excited about this shift. So let’s all enjoy the August weather, knowing that a better, more sustainable future is in on the way.
