July 26, 2018 – Mattamy Homes has announced that Pete Skelly has been appointed President of the company’s US Group, effective July 25, 2018.
“We are very fortunate to have an individual of Pete’s background and experience joining Mattamy,” says Peter Gilgan, Mattamy’s Founder and CEO. “We know that Pete had many options and opportunities available to him, and are excited that he chose Mattamy for the next stage of his career. He will make a big difference at our company, and we look forward to him leading our US business into the future.”
Pete is a highly experienced homebuilding executive, with a proven track record of building and growing successful organizations that produce outstanding results. Most recently he was the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer with CalAtlantic, the 5th largest homebuilder in the US. Pete held this role for nearly three years, until the acquisition of the company by Lennar Corporation in February 2018. Previously, he was with The Ryland Group for more than 25 years in a variety of senior management roles including EVP and COO, Homebuilding President, and regional and divisional President.
“Pete is a leader of exceptional character and capability, and the Mattamy team is going to benefit greatly from the depth of his experience,” says Larry Nicholson, who sits on Mattamy’s Board of Directors and recently retired as the President and CEO of CalAtlantic.
“After speaking with members of Mattamy’s Board and spending time with Peter Gilgan, it was obvious to me that the company’s US business has a great foundation and a strong future ahead,” says Pete Skelly. “I’m very much looking forward to working with Mattamy’s US team and continuing to further strengthen the culture and business.”
