After many years of shipping product to Thunder Bay, Ont., from its Etobicoke facility and supporting the community from afar, Everlast has decide to take up residence in this lovely town to the north. After months of careful consideration and scouting the company turned to a long-standing and established window and door company in town, A & R Ross, and made a offer to purchase them. The offer was accepted and closed Oct. 1. Everlast’s history in the window and door business spans over six decades and acquiring another historic mainstay in the industry just seemed a logical step.
Window and Door magazine is reporting a mass shooting at fenestration software manufacturer, WTS Paradigm, on Sept. 19. Several employees of WTS Paradigm were shot on Sept. 19 after a gunman opened fire at the company’s Middleton, Wis., offices. According to Middleton Police Chief Charles Foulke, the shooting began at about 10:25 a.m.
Effective today, Brian Hermiston will be stepping back as general manager of the Fenestra Purchasing Co-operative. He has served as the only GM since the co-op's inception in 2011. Hermiston will remain to complete supplier partner negotiations for the next year.

Fenestration Canada has released a statement criticizing the Canadian government for retaliatory tariffs imposed on U.S. imports of aluminum windw and door products. The federal government announced charges of 10 per cent on these products entering the country in response to U.S. tariffs on Canadian steel and aluminum announced in May.
Fenestration Canada is seeking testimonials from members to add to its communications to the Ontario government regarding the cancellation of the GreenON window rebate program. The association released the following message:
The federal government has announced retaliatory tariffs on imports from the U.S. of many steel and aluminum products, including "doors, windows and their frames and thresholds for doors." The tariffs are in response to American tarrifs announced in May on steel and aluminum entering the U.S. from Canada. The tariff on fenestration products will be 10 per cent.
June 29, 2018 - The Canadian Construction Association (CCA) is pleased with the Canadian government's decision to refuse the sale of Aecon Group Inc. to Chinese government-controlled CCC Holding Limited (CCCI). "CCA wishes to express its satisfaction with the government's confidence in the Canadian construction industry," said Mary Van Buren, CCA president. "We are happy that the government recognizes the fact that government-owned or controlled entities have no place to compete against private and publicly-traded companies in the Canadian construction industry."
