Dec. 3, 2012 -- Vicky Rutherford, owner and CEO of Rutherford Controls International, a privately held, family-owned business for almost 90 years, has announced today that she has agreed to sell RCI to the Dorma Group. RCI is a globally connected organization providing the security, locksmith and architectural hardware markets with innovative electric locking and access control solutions.
Dec. 4, 2012 - Farley Windows and Doors has received protection from its creditors under the Companies Creditors Arrangement Act (CCAA) in a court order dated Nov. 30. The order suspends Farley's obligations to pay employees and suppliers until Jan. 11, 2013.

Nov. 29, 2012 Masonite International Corporation has announced that it has completed the acquisition of all of the capital stock of Lemieux Doors, based in Windsor, Que. Founded in 1990, Lemieux is known for its broad range of high quality panel and French wood doors and its market leading service proposition. Lemieux employs approximately 150 people and annual revenue exceeds $40 million. The terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.

Nov. 6, 2012 - Glass Canada's new supplement for the window and door fabrication industry, Fenestration Review, will be officially launched at Win-Door 2012, Nov. 6 to 8 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. Sept. 23, 2012 - More than 50 employees of All Weather Windows' Mississauga fabrication plant volunteered their time on Saturday, Sept. 22, to build windows for 11 Habitat for Humanity homes in southern Ontario. The employees built insulating glass units and vinyl sills then glazed in windows in the morning between 9 and 11 a.m., generating 95 windows and 18 doors for the build.
Sept. 19, 2012 - All Weather Windows will be having a Factory Blitz Build Saturday, Sept. 22, commencing at 8 a.m. with a pancake breakfast, and lasting until approximately 1 p.m. It will take place at its facility at 3100 Caravelle Drive, Mississauga, Ont.
July 10, 2012 - Rehau's CEO of North American operations, Kathleen “Kitty” Saylor, stepped down from her position on July 1 after an 18-year career with the company. Saylor, who has served as Rehau North American CEO since 2006, and was the company’s VP of human resources from 2001 to 2006, has accepted a position in Bozeman, Mont. as the chief executive in residence of the Montana State University Alumni Foundation. Rehau North America’s former vice-president of marketing and sales, Christian Fabian, has been appointed to the position of CEO.
