Sept. 29, 2016 - It took two tries and a three-month timeout but eventually the annual Fenestration Manitoba golf tournament took place this year on Sept. 15 at Winnipeg’s Rossmere Golf and Country Club. The initial date, June 1, was a washout after successive days of rain and a hurricane-like forecast for that day. But it eventually worked out with a pleasant late summer September day on the prairies, which only clouded over in the late afternoon.

Glasshaus Living, a Woodbridge, Ont.-based custom fenestration fabricator, will display its novel shipping container shelters at a pop-up marketing event in a wooded area near the Old Mill in a swanky part of Toronto. On display will be Glasshau's portable shipping container shelter that displays its unique window and door designs, and another shipping container shelter designed by Glasshaus that is used by Needs and Wants, a Canadian clothing designer, as a store.
July 21, 2016 - PPG has announced that it has reached a definitive agreement to sell the assets of its flat glass manufacturing and glass coatings operations to Vitro S.A.B. de C.V., a leading producer of flat glass and specialty products. The transaction is expected to close by the end of 2016, subject to customary closing conditions.
August 31, 2016 – Westlake Chemical Corporation (NYSE: WLK) announced today that it has completed the previously announced acquisition of Axiall Corporation (NYSE: AXLL) for $33.00 per share in an all-cash transaction, representing an enterprise value of approximately $3.8 billion, including debt and certain other Axiall liabilities.The combined company will be the third-largest chlor-alkali producer and the second-largest polyvinyl chloride (PVC) producer in North America, with expected combined pro forma revenues of $7.4 billion and adjusted EBITDA of $1.4 billion for the twelve-month period ended June 30, 2016. May 26, 2016 - With an established, worldwide presence, the company who specialize in CNC machinery for the window and door industry, has experienced tremendous growth in recent years.
