Oct. 29, 2015 - On October 27, 2015, Prompt Payment Ontario (PPO) had its consultation with the Ontario Construction Lien Act (CLA) Review. According to Sandra Skivsky representing PPO, “We had a 4 hour meeting with Bruce Reynolds and Sharon Vogel to discuss the key issues they identified in the Information Package, and some identified by PPO, such as the impact on Benefit/Pension Plans. It was an informal and free ranging discussion on how the various elements for Payment Security would work with Prompt Payment principles.”

For the fourth time in six years, All Weather Windows has been named the ENERGY STAR Manufacturer of The Year in the fenestration products category - further cementing the company's status as industry leaders in energy efficiency. The Honourable Greg Rickford, Minister of Natural Resources Canada, announced the ENERGY STAR Market Transformation Awards on July 29 in Kenora, Ontario. The awards are to recognize outstanding utility providers, manufacturers, retailers, advocates and home builders who have led their respective industries in the pursuit of energy efficient products and processes.
July 30, 2015 - The Partners Promoting Window and Balconey Safety have released updated screen safety stickers. The new stickers feature an improved design and are available through screen component distributors or can be ordered on the PPWBS website. The PPWBS has also sent thousands of them to EMS groups, property managers and home owners in hopes they will affix them to existing screens. "With several falls from second- and third-floor windows and highrises, there is an obvious need to educate parents and care givers," said Jim Parker, PPWBS chair.
July 8, 2015 - The Canadian Home Builders’ Association (CHBA) is pleased to announce an agreement with the Government of Canada to renew its successful public information program, Get it in Writing!, for the next three years. This industry-lead initiative provides homeowners with advice on how to hire a contractor, and the dangers of dealing with illegal ‘cash’ operators.
June 11, 2015 - CSA Group says it will be expanding its presence in Alberta by opening a branch in Calgary to serve industries that require testing, inspection and certification services.
