June 9, 2016 - JELD-WEN Canada was recognized at an industry event on May 24th as the recipient of the 2016 ENERGY STAR Manufacturer of the Year, Windows and Doors. Minister Jim Carr was on hand to announce the winners and offer his congratulations. Lisa Bergeron, Government Relations Manager, JELD-WEN Canada was present to receive the award on our behalf.
May 26, 2016 - AmesburyTruth, a premier manufacturer of window and door components for residential and commercial applications, has developed plans with Ryan A+E, Inc. to construct a center of excellence facility in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The new state-of the-art building will enable the design, development, testing, and manufacturing for window and door components. The new facility will positively position AmesburyTruth for future growth.
May 26, 2016 - With an established, worldwide presence, the company who specialize in CNC machinery for the window and door industry, has experienced tremendous growth in recent years. Last summer the company inaugurated a 12,500 square foot showroom in Montreal. Besides proving invaluable as a location to demonstrate their products (including its distribution division JRC Machinery) this showroom has also helped open up needed space in the Eugenie plant, allowing for an increase in production capacity.

May 26, 2016 - Municipalities issued building permits worth $7.4 billion in February, up 15.5% from January. This growth followed a 9.5% decline the previous month and was largely the result of higher construction intentions for commercial buildings in Alberta, single-family dwellings in Ontario and institutional structures in Quebec.

An official press conference was held on May 2, to announce the finalists Groupe Eugénie is nominated for ''Business of the year'' and Mr. Jonathan Chauvette, Vice President, is nominated as ''Young entrepreneur of the year'' This year's edition of Gala Vision will take place on May 27th.

April 14, 2016 - OpenGate Capital has announced that it has completed the acquisition of the Window & Door division of Royal Building Products, a manufacturer of vinyl window profiles and patio doors, from Axiall Corporation. The division has been renamed ENERGI Fenestration Solutions (“ENERGI”), as part of OpenGate’s investment strategy to transition the business into a stand-alone entity. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. ENERGI was founded more than 40 years ago and is a leading manufacturer of rigid and cellular vinyl window and patio door profiles, as well as interior vinyl shutters and other extruded vinyl products for a variety of applications. ENERGI is headquartered in Ontario, Canada, has seven manufacturing sites in the United States and Canada, and employs more than 900 people.

Window Safety Week is observed April 3-9. However, open windows can be dangerous any time of year for young children who are not properly supervised.

April 14, 2016 - Now that spring has arrived, Roto Frank of North America is joining the Window Safety Task Force (WSTF) of the National Safety Council to remind homeowners of the importance of practicing window safety. Although National Window Safety Week is observed April 3-9 this year, open windows can be dangerous any time of year for young children. Falls from a window can result in serious injury or death, and pose an especially dangerous threat for children. Every year, about eight children under age five die from falling out of a window, and more than 3,300 are injured seriously enough to go to the hospital.
March 17, 2016 - The total value of building permits issued by Canadian municipalities rose 11.3% to $6.9 billion in December, following a 19.9% decline the previous month.
