ODL acquires Tru Tech Doors

ODL, a provider of doorglass and insulated blinds has expanded into exterior doors by purchasing Tru Tech Doors of Woodbridge, Ont.

“It is a very exciting day for ODL, Tru Tech Doors, and our family of brands,” commented David Klein, president of ODL. “Our strategy is to be the leading solutions provider for the door system and, now, with the ability to manufacture doors, we have begun the journey of delivering that complete door solution to our customers. The company everyone thought should make a door now does. ”

Tru Tech Doors, a high-performance steel and fiberglass door manufacturer, was founded by John Careri in 1998 and, in February, celebrated its 25th anniversary. Careri will join the ODL team as executive vice-president and president of the door division. He will lead door manufacturing and development efforts as ODL expands throughout North America.

In 2022, Tru Tech began launching its newest exterior door innovation, Harbour Craft fiberglass doors. This collection was developed to meet the evolving design needs of the modern homeowner, with new door styles to be launched throughout 2023. Harbour Craft and other Tru Tech door collections are a welcome addition to ODL and its growing family of products.

ODL Doors, built by Tru Tech, will be available to select U.S. and Canadian doorglass customers.

ODL extends a warm welcome to Tru Tech as they bring their vast knowledge and manufacturing expertise to the team. ODL looks to retain all TruTech employees and its current manufacturing facilities in Ontario. The acquisition of Tru Tech Doors marks the third acquisition for ODL in the last 16 months. ODL acquired Robover, an insulating glass manufacturer in Quebec City, in August, 2022, and Verre Select, a specialty glass manufacturer in Terrebonne, Que., in January, 2022.
