Dec. 17, 2013 – R+T Turkey opened its doors for the first time at the DNR EXPO grounds in Istanbul and exceeded all expectations. “Approximately 7,000 visitors from all over the world, high-quality exhibitor stands and a wide range of products – our première in Turkey was impressive”, agreed Roland Bleinroth, Managing Director of Messe Stuttgart, and the Turkish partner Hakan Gencoglu from Ares Fuarcilik.

Alignment in the Bosphorus region conquers new markets

Almost 20 percent of the visitors travelled from abroad. In addition to the huge influx of visitors and the strong international character, the exhibitors were also impressed, in particular, with the contact with visitors from hitherto undeveloped markets. “To date, we have seldom or never met guests from countries such as Turkmenistan, Aserbaidschan, Usbekistan, Iran, Iraq and other Islamic countries in this region at an R+T trade fair”, reports Emre Büyükcavus from Crocist. The première event on Turkish soil has now changed this and in doing so has opened the doors to new markets with huge potential. Büyükcavus: “There is a need for sun protection in this region and the use of corresponding products will increase significantly in the coming years.”

“With the trade fair in the global metropolis of Istanbul, we have found the right place to complement the portfolio of R+T with the region of Turkey and the Middle East”, states Bernhard Müller, Area Manager of Messe Stuttgart International. Based on the euphoric mood of the exhibitors, visitors and organisers, there is no doubt about a follow-up event. Müller: “We will hold an event here every two years and will be represented again in the Bosphorus region in November 2015.”

Well-known exhibitors welcome high quality of visitors
116 exhibitors from Turkey and a total of ten other countries were represented at the leading trade fair for roller shutters, doors/gates, windows and sun protection and showcased products and innovations on 15,000 square metres of exhibition space. In addition to well-known Turkish companies, there were also manufacturers from Germany, Greece, Italy, Spain, France, Korea, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Austria and China. Ibrahim Simsek, Chairman of Fatih Panjur, highlighted the quality of the visitors: “We conducted discussions with discerning guests and the visitors showed a genuine interest in our products.”

“As a pioneer and industry leader, we had the idea to organise R+T Turkey in our country for the first time, and received support from our cooperation partners right from the start. We are very proud of our efforts to show the entire world the performance of the young, creative and productive population of Turkey”, states Ilya Özyürek, Palmiye Managing Director, confirming the enthusiasm of the exhibitors on site. “We are delighted to be able to say that we used all our opportunities for a successful R+T Turkey. In this regard, we would like to extend our thanks to Messe Stuttgart and Ares Fuarcilik, who together organised the trade fair, as well as the visitors who came from all over the world.” There was also huge praise for the awning experts at Albayrak, for whom Istanbul was a real home match. Orhan Albayrak, Business Development Manager: “As a company which has its roots here, we are delighted that the industry will now be a guest in our native country every two years as part of this renowned trade fair. Thanks to the influx of visitors, the presence of important companies and associations and the diverse framework programme, we experienced four exciting trade fair days and established interesting new contacts.”
