David Mitten, executive director of the Siding and Window Dealers Association of Canada, has announced his intention to step back into a part-time, semi-retired role. The SAWDAC board has formed a search committee to find a full-time replacement.
Mitten began working for SAWDAC in 1990. There were 30 members and no programs at that time. Since then, the association has expanded to 213 members and established such programs as Window Wise and the SAWDAC Fenestration Installation Technician training program. The association says the new executive director’s challenge will be to keep the ball rolling and to reach out to a modern generation of home renovators by providing the types of services and programs they want SAWDAC to supply. SAWDAC says it is seeking a candidate with a proven track record in business development, client retention skills, strong administrative, communication and interpersonal skills and preferably experience in the home improvement industry. The position comes with a competitive remuneration package, including a performance-based bonus.
