FenCan’s Ontario chapter event kicks off on Sept. 14.

Fenestration Canada’s Chapters Tour kicks off next week in Toronto with its Ontario Chapter Event. Join FenCan on Sept. 14 for a day of industry talks and a tour of UL’s facility.

10:45am-12:00pm – Hear from the Ontario government with presentations and discussions on the Ontario Energy Efficiency Regulation, and the Ontario Building Code.

We will welcome Andrew Howse, Senior Advisor, Energy Efficiency Standards, and Dheerish Rambaruth, Code Advisor in the Code Development and Advisory

12:45pm- 1:30pmOntario Social Housing has 1 Billion dollars for high performance windows in the next 5 years presented by Daniel Dicaire, Ottawa Community Housing

Ontario social housing providers have secured over 1 Billion dollars of funding for deep energy retrofits. This will transform existing building into high performance buildings and eliminate 25% GHG emissions from their portfolio. A major part of this work is the building envelope which will require the supply of over 1,000,000 high performance windows in the next 5 years. In this presentation, Dan Dicaire, Manager of Conservation and Sustainability at Ottawa Community Housing, will share the result from their pilot net-zero retrofit as well as their plans for retrofitting 2400 units in the next 5 years. He will also give a broader context of how other Ontario housing providers are also following suit and help shape the business case for Ontario made high performance windows now!
