NRCC selects preferred site for advanced manufacturing R&D facility
July 6, 2017 By The National Research Council of Canada
July 6, 2017 – The National Research Council of Canada (NRC) is building an advanced manufacturing research and development and demonstration facility in Winnipeg.
A preferred site for this facility has now been selected in the Inkster Industrial Park.
The site was identified through a competitive Request For Offers process conducted by Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC).
PSPC will now begin environmental and geotechnical studies as part of the due diligence process to confirm the site. These steps will be commenced immediately, with the intention of completing the process by late September 2017.
“We are looking forward to confirming the site for our new advanced manufacturing research and development facility in Winnipeg”, said the Vice-President Engineering for the NRC, François Cordeau. “It’s an exciting time for the NRC. By providing easier access to advanced technologies, the NRC aims to support manufacturers to innovate at a faster pace in an increasingly competitive marketplace”.
