October 29, 2018  By Al Dueck Duxton Windows and Doors

Fenestration Manitoba has organized another year end mixer for Dec. 11 at Prairie’s Edge in Winnipeg. This event will feature not only a new location but a presentation of new material. From Manitoba Power Smart’s leader Harry Schroeder and his team, the thirdannual kickoff of FenCon with advance ticket sales as well as a special fundraiser – Backpacks for Siloam Mission!

Gord Seier, of AGM in Winnipeg has commented that “I’ve seen the homeless street people at Siloam Mission who carry their stuff with them, in their hands, and that’s all they have in the world,” said Gord. “We’ve been working with the concept of finding something like backpacks with a few supplies such as a blanket or towel (and possibly a few other essentials) so the homeless people can keep their stuff and not have it in ripped plastic bags or worse yet loose.”

So, Fenestration Manitobais stepping up during their 2018 year end Holiday mixer to collect backpackswith some contents. Nancy Zubriski, Executive Director, is going to be working with Gord to find the best ways to create these backpacks in advance such that the FenMan attendees can simply commit to a certain dollar amount and therefore “x number” of backpacks for Siloams clients.  “It’s the end of another successful year and nearing the Christmas giving season and an excellent way to give back and help some of the most needy people in Manitoba,” says Gord.

Fenestration Manitoba is happy to pick up the cause and try to step up in a small way to make a difference!
