Neil Fast becomes president and CEO of Loewen

The Loewen board of directors welcomed Neil Fast as the company’s new president and CEO on Nov. 24. Fast replaces the retiring Al Babiuk.

Fast lives in Winnipeg with his family. He has a commerce degree from the Asper School at the University of Manitoba and an MBA from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. The company plans to introduce Fast to customers, dealers, staff, the industry, and the community more extensively in coming months.

Loewen added, “We’d also like to express deep appreciation to Al Babiuk, who will be retiring from the role of president and CEO on December 31st. Al led Loewen through some of the most tumultuous and challenging times in the company’s history. He leaves the organization with an outstanding team including the highest quality of distribution and supply partners in the industry. He also leaves Loewen positioned for continued opportunities for success within our unique market position.”

“I can’t say thank you enough to all of the Loewen teams, our partners, and our industry associations and competitors over the past 20 years, for the privilege of being allowed to have the leadership roles and relationships that I have had,” Babiuk said. “I look forward to many years of further success for the company, our team, and our partners.”

Bill Holt also joined Loewen as the company’s vice-president of sales and customer experience.

Loewen has also announced Bill Holt will be joining the company as vice-president of sales and customer experience in December, 2022. Holt will report to Steve Donner, senior vice-president of sales and customer experience. Holt has almost 30 years’ experience in the industry, including time with Jeld-Wen and other window and door manufacturers. His roles have included territory sales manager, national sales manager, and vice-president of sales. He has led directors, sales teams, and architectural consultants to drive sales and develop many long-term business relationships. Holt has a degree in management from Pacific University in Oregon.

“We’re excited that Bill will be bringing his long track-record of success in partnering and supporting customers to the Loewen sales dealer network,” said Donner.

Tyler Sampson

Tyler Sampson and Andrew Kelly step into regional sales manager roles at the company.

Loewen also announced the promotion of Tyler Sampson and Andrew Kelly from territory managers to regional sales managers for the east and west U.S. regions. Both have proven themselves as strong leaders and representatives of Loewen as they support their dealers. Sampson has over six years’ experience with Loewen in the role of northeastern territory manager and has worked previously as a project manager for a general contractor and with Pella. Kelly has over 18 months’ experience with Loewen in the role of southern California, Arizona and New Mexico territory manager. He came to Loewen with 10 years’ experience with Andersen. Both will assume their new duties on January 1st, 2023, and will begin supporting the team of territory managers as well as working with the current management team on 2023 dealer programing.

Located in Steinbach, Man., Loewen is the premium window and door company focused exclusively on the architectural market.
